15% of People Think World Will End In Their Lifetime
Today’s Dilemma: What’s up with 15% of people thinking the world will end in their lifetime?
According to a new poll, one in seven people worldwide thinks the world will end in their lifetime. Additionally, 10% think the Mayan Calendar is accurate and we’re currently enjoying our last few months on Earth. Who the hell were the pollsters polling? Well, actually 16,262 people from over 20 different countries. Not surprisingly, the highest numbers of doom came from Russia and Poland, and the lowest from Great Britain. Our reactions:
Matt: I’ve about had it with the Mayan doomsday thing. I’d rather listen to Al Sharpton preach on about Trayvon Martin than hear another thing about the world coming to and end. It’s been said a million times already that the Mayans didn’t account for the leap year, so our so-called day of judgement has already passed us by. That being said, it’s pretty jaw-dropping to see just how negative the world’s population has become. Here’s hoping the world doesn’t go black within my lifetime.
Alex: The funny thing is that’s probably the lowest that number has ever been…not that there have ever been statistics to actually prove that. It will be interesting to see how that number changes in the next couple years.
