Ah, it’s been too long. We haven’t had a vodka in TDB for quite some time, and while that should make me happy, it doesn’t. You see, I rather like vodka. You can mix it with anything and it’s cheap. It’s also easier to get away with. There’s a popular myth that vodka has no smell on your breath, and even though that’s not entirely true, it’s definitely the least smelly. Gin and whiskey, not so much. I may be a beer geek, but I can’t give up on the hard stuff. I especially have a soft spot for really shitty vodka. It’s wronged me so many times I’ve lost count, but I don’t care. Petergoff is supposed to be pretty decent, at least according to the man at the liquor store. Then again, he’s told me several times he doesn’t actually drink, yet he claims everything is “a good stuff.” Doesn’t quite add up.
Mixed with Fresca.
Color
Clear.
Nose
Well it smells like cold death. The Fresca does little to mask the poison.
Taste
Fairly smooth by itself, downright delicious with the Fresca. A great mixing vodka that holds up decently straight.
Final Verdict
Well, I’m not saying you should take shots of Petergoff, but for a budget vodka, surprisingly smooth. 4 out of a possible 5. Here’s a classic I forgot existed.
