A Bit on “Gunwalker”

For today’s pick, I’ve got some pretty disturbing stuff.  Don’t be surprised if within the next few weeks there is a major contempt charge for someone high up in the Obama administration or some Congressional hearings that will actually get picked up on NBC.  If you guys have twenty minutes to spare at any point today, then you should dedicate it to carefully reading this timeline.  It’s worth it.  It tells a hell of a true story, and we are getting close to the climax each day.  I would write a post about all this, but that time timeline does it better and in more depth than I could.  It’s all as complicated as Inception, but I’ll try to run it down.

In January 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton began a campaign for a serious crackdown on gun laws.  They ran on the statistic that 90% of military-style automatic rifles that are being used by the Mexican cartel lords to kill each other come from U.S. gun stores and then were smuggled across the border.  Funny fact, that’s a huge lie.  It’s more around 18% percent, according to factcheck.org and gun traces within the past year.  Wikileaks has also confirmed that Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton were aware this statistic was false.  It gets worse.  It’s been confirmed that the ATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms) was playing a role in the sale of these high-level firearms to known black market/cartel members knowingly.  It’s also been confirmed that this was done to drive up gun violence on the border, and then strengthen the case for tighter gun laws.

A few things happened that turned this little sting operation upside down.  A border patrol agent was shot and killed with one of the weapons that was knowingly let smuggled across the border.  Then the guns started turning up on dead bodies in Mexican drug cartel shootouts.  The Mexican government quickly picked up on all this, and is looking to file lawsuits against US officials.  Whistle blowers have been coming out in high numbers from the ATF claiming that they knew all this was going on, and kept blaming it higher and higher up the ranks.  There is more and more evidence coming out that high officials in the Justice Department (i.e. Eric Holder or his assistant) knew about this, and were role players in this whole conspiracy.
