The NFL is Back!
It seems like forever since the NFL season ended so spectacularly with the Patriots losing to the Giants. (Note: I’m not by any means a Giants fan, but there are very few things that make me happier than seeing the Patriots lose. Especially in Indianapolis). The NFL is finally back, and the offseason left us with a lot of promise for an exciting season. What are you looking forward to most?
Alex: Being from Indianapolis, it’s hard to not be excited for this season. Literally anything would be better than last season, so even if it’s not spectacular it will be an improvement. I went to Andrew Luck’s first game the other day, and they look good. Indy won’t be going to the Super Bowl this year, or probably not even the playoffs, but it should be a good season nonetheless.
Matt: Every time we put up one of our rare sports themed articles, its always an image of a Philly player or one of the crappy Indianapolis teams. Maybe I’m lame, especially since the Eagles are the sexy pick for the Super Bowl this year, but I’m just not all that excited. The lame-ass protection, in the form of twenty new penalties, the league gives to the quarterbacks has turned it into flag football. Even hits on receivers and running backs are more reminiscent of a flag football takedown than something we used to see Ray Lewis or Brian Dawkins do seven years ago. These guys are making way more money than I ever will. They should take the risk of a big hit.
